"In a ruling issued Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks said MySpace is protected under the Communications Decency Act and cannot be expected to verify the age of every user because that "would of course stop MySpace's business in its tracks."

ah the irony of responsibility:
"This is allowing sites like MySpace to avoid the responsibility to make the Internet safe for children," (The laywer for her parents) Jason Itkin said.

That's good news for community operators. You can try, but we all know it's nearly impossible to detect and/or block fraudulent users.
