I'm looking for a social networking cms. Sort of like myspace, but that allows multiple profiles per user.

I want it so people can create game characters, and all characters have their own profile with pictures, movies, bio, etc. And all characters are associated to one user. For example like dogster.com, where each user can have multiple dog profiles.

In the future I'd also like to add premium services, so for a fee, users can add video, or more pictures to a character.

I've checked phpFoX, but aside that it's commercial, it doesn't quite do what I want.

I wouldn't mind an openSource phpFoX so I can modify it to do what I want.

Any suggestions?

With the popularity of MySpace, there's a lot of interest in software that offers similar social networking features.

Oddly, no great contenders seem to have popped up yet. I've seen some hacks for vBulletin that attempt to offer some of that functionality but the implementation seems kind of crude. Grafting something onto vBulletin, phpBB, Joomla, etc. would be popular, I think, if one could do it. PhpFox is the only attempt that I'm aware of right now.

I've seen a few on hotscripts but they generally tend to be direct clones and not very innovative in terms of allowing you to create a new unique entity (albeit based on an old concept).
