Baidu Still Leads Search Market, Google.cn Chasing after [tradingmarkets.com]

The size of the Chinese search engine market reached CNY 1.365 billion in total during the first quarter of 2009, surging 46% year on year but falling 11% quarter on quarter, Analysys International, a leading advisor about the technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) industries in China, announced in a research report.

Still, Baidu Inc. took the lead over the industry, with a 59% market share.

By comparison, archrival Google.cn captured more than 30% of the market for the first time.

However, if this report is accurate then all the rest of search engines in China only have 1% of the market.
