LinkedIn has announced "LinkedIn Events" which it explains are to help organize in-person professional gatherings, where you can create or join events, make invites, and communicate with attendees.

Currently, it's for English-speaking sectors and starts October 17, 2019.

You'll find it in the "community panel on the left side of the newsfeed.

I've belong to several tech groups that used proprietary software to announce new meetings, and that was enough to get groups to pay for it annually. It was really clunky, but it still was an attractive feature.

Does this "Events" feature work with those using free LinkedIn accounts?
