That's right - it wasn't that bad - it was worse!
First up, I signed for £60 free credit on this page:
[searchmarketing.yahoo.com...]
It wasn't applied, and when I wrote in, they said:
We would like to inform you that this offer is £60 off the fee of theTo which I replied
Fast Track. As you signed up through the self service option this promotional offer did not apply.
The reply quickly came:
That form CLEARLY states, in the column under "Self Serve", the words:
No Service Fee. £60 Free Credit
Please now honour the agreement. If you are not able to do this, please pass to senior management for comment so I may pass your comments to Trading Standards. Thanks
We would like to inform you that we will add £60 promotional credit to
your account balance before close of business today.
Mind you I could swear I selected all keywords as standard. Funny how some of the more general were showing as advanced:) I'm going to have a keep an eye out for any monkey business.
On a regular basis, my higher spend accounts are allowed to spend 3-10 TIMES their daily budget, to compensate, Yahoo will take their ads offline for however many days it takes to make the budget kosher again, sometimes up to 5 or 6. Their reasoning is that as long as they hit your monthly budget, they dont care if your ads are online for only ONE day.
You must watch them VERY carefully. They will turn advanced match on willy-nilly whenever they feel like it. We monitor various accounts on a weekly or daily basis and inevitably have to change this setting each time we look on numerous keywords.
I hope AdCenter soon gets the traffic that Yahoo does - I want to turn the Yahoo ads off all together, they're ROI is not worth the headache.
