There was certainly some movement on the day I noticed this change. The post was put on hold, then released... so a mod must know something about the update.

Anyway, since this post, the results reverted back to prior levels. This is the second time this has happened to us - a rather large rush of traffic from Yahoo, then it disappears.

We're still getting around 12% of our traffic from Yahoo - so it's back to business.

I have seen a slight algo change the way yahoo handles keywords. Here is an example of keywords:

The example of word and words have not moved in the serps for me. But the example wording has shown some movement today and I have seen it in all the keywords I watch that end in "ing". Seems to me that Yahoo is tweaking keywords ending in "ing" a bit.

One site I monitor seems to have been released from the deep dark well of "non-compliant" sites, but I don't know if that's related to an algorithm update.

It is nice to have an announcement from Yahoo that there are going to be updates soon.

Bing is driving 67% of the traffic of Yahoo to our site as of their launch...

...Yahoo is the only major engine left that does paid inclusion. They need to drop it, fast, if they hope to compete with Bing.

I have a panel of a half dozen sites that I work with...none of them get anything near the "20% market share" that Yahoo has via SEO...it's more like 10%...my gut says most of Yahoo's market share is either paid inclusion, self referencing links or navigational queries.

Let's hope if they are rolling an update...they actually start caring, again, about "search" rather than "money"...because the money follows the audience, not the other way 'round.

Bing isn't listed as a search engine in my reports. I'm not seeing any change in Yahoo! but it's too soon to know for sure.

Yahoo! accounts for roughly 26% of my search visitors after Google's 48%, Bing has been relatively steady at 9% since launch. I do get a decent amount of ask and aol search too which may be lowering all other figures a bit.

I have to say, despite all the flap I read about Yahoo!, that i've been impressed by Yahoo's ranking of my sites thus far and happy with the search results I see when browsing other sites. Getting indexed takes much longer but it does happen and does drive traffic.

Ok here is my observation, first I must admit that Yahoo is a heart-breaker because although I have a relatively new site – Yahoo gave me enormous traffic on 2 occasions the greatest being around mid-April. This lasted for 2 days and then dropped tremendously like 90%+. Lately I have experienced very good Yahoo success as well, not as crazy as Mid-April but this time though and fingers crossed it seems real. I am actually enjoying sustained Yahoo traffic for over a week now. Where Yahoo was only 5-10% of Traffic it is now almost 30%.

Yahoo results on my sites are very minimal with Google providing most of my traffic, Bing is also pushing some traffic my way, and hopefully Bing will be a success to give Google some competition.
