Yahoo has long ignored Messenger, but it seems it's finally had an update.

Oh god, Yahoo Messenger... takes me back. I finally had to leave when half the time you couldn't tell if someone who added you was real or a scammer.

Been years since I used it. Might take a look and see if there's any value (and no tracking/personalization embedded).

I read an article about it that praised it but also noted that it does the same thing other messengers do, with no breakout feature to set it apart. At least now you don't need a Yahoo ID to use it. That's good. It still has ties to Yahoo mail. Would have been good to somehow be able to interface with any email system you choose to use it with.
