Do many (of you) webmasters/coders stay up late at night regularly to do their work.... ?

For many years I did, but only because I had no dependable bandwidth in the daytime. I don't work late these days though.

Used to, before becoming a parent 13 years ago.
There is something a little magic about getting the time to get stuff done when no one is awake and around.

I saw the headline and immediately thought “Are there webmasters/coders who do not stay up late at night?” As in: I’ve got this one little thing to tweak, should take half an hour tops ... and next time you look away from the screen, the sun is rising.
But no, I guess grownups do go to bed at night.

You code when you have to code, day or night, but if the work happens in darkness, you generally get more done since it is unlikely you will get interrupted with telephone calls, texts, etc.
That said, some of my most creative writing has happened at night, particularly when I should be abed, and I call that "dream typing."

These days, given my advancing age, day/night makes no difference when I take a nap. (sigh)

“Sunrises are all right when approached slowly from the night before, but when faced abruptly from the same morning they are awful.” Gertrude Stein, I think, but don’t quote me.
