The European Commission had suggested a 3 per cent levy on firms with a global annual turnover of €750m and annual EU revenue of at least €50m – but the measures were branded fundamentally flawed by some nations.
[theregister.co.uk...] A sign of things to come? Where you pay to play, one way or the other?

Is not going to affect most of us.
Unhappiness about the UK going it alone seems odd given Brexit. France doing the same seems more of a problem.

Socialists keep saying they need the individual tax rate of everyone to be at or above 75% of their income. The European commision is very socialist right now. This is called a tax grab, plain and simple. Citizens used to have protection against new taxes like this at the country level but, apparently, not at the EU level.

I would be thrilled, thrilled I tell you, to pay the EU 3% of my €50m EU revenue... if I had €50m EU revenue...
ah umm, would be even more thrilled if I had €750m global annual turnover...
Now at least, I have a goal! Thanks, European Commission!
Ah, let's see now, given average YoY increases and average annual inflation I should manage this by, oh darn; perhaps my great grandkids?
