Usernames and passwords being reused can sometimes bring dividends to hackers, and this attack on GoToMyPC is unlikely to be the only use of the stolen or leaked data from other sources.

Citrix can confirm the recent incident was a password re-use attack, where attackers used usernames and passwords leaked from other websites to access the accounts of GoToMyPC users.

At this time, the response includes a mandatory password reset for all GoToMyPC users. Citrix calls all GoToMyPC Users to Reset Passwords after Hack Attack [status.gotomypc.com]

More fallout from the LinkedIn breach at work. I've been getting messages from other companies as well telling me to change my passwords, even though I know I haven't reused my passwords.

If you haven't got one yet, invest some time this weekend on setting up a decent password manager.

I'm also getting password change reminders from unrelated accounts. Not a bad thing, really. It's a good reason to upgrade your password at WebmasterWorld, too.

Just received an email from Pandora saying that while there is no evidence my username/password have been used maliciously, due to a security breach thousands of Pandora member's usernames/passwords have been compromised and have been published for open viewing.

Didn't say where these Pandora usernames/passwords were being openly displayed. Did say to change them, duh.

However, IMO if they were that concerned about security they would not force their members to install Flash in order to use their site.
