I have two brand new domains example.com and example.co.uk

I want example.com to be "the site" but if anyone visits example.co.uk they should be redirected to example.com

1. Should I just redirect any request on example.co.uk to the homepage of example.com or should I redirect to whatever page was requested on the .co.uk? Note that there are no pages on the co.uk site, so no one should request them. But if someone mistakenly posts a link on a form such as:

"Hey, have you see the widgets on example.co.uk/blog/widgets"

Should that redirect to the corresponding ,com page or the homepage?

2. This is a UK based site so the fact the .com is the site, whilst the .co.uk is to be redirected will this mean the site will rank higher in google.com but not as good in google.co.uk ? If yes will any of the options in 1 be better? The target audience will be UK based.

The corresponding page, of course. Always redirect page-for-page when you've got the option.
