Frequently I see references to the size of sites such as "small sites" or "large sites", and so on. I realize that there might not be an exact number of pages defining each, but I wonder how many pages a small site can have before it's considered to be a large site. Is there a general rule of thumb?

Isn't that already begging the question?

Suppose, say, a school tells its students to post all their assignments online, and allots pages for the purpose. So you've got tens of thousands of pages under one name-- but nobody would seriously call it a big site.

To me, big vs. small is defined by your visitor count. So the question becomes, how many zeros before you're considered a big site.
