Hi,is there anyone whose native language is not English, but operating English website or blogging in English?
My native language is Chinese, and recently I'm having a blog in English trying to teach peole whose native language is not Chinese. Unfortunately,it turns out to be a failure. Even though some visitors from the US come to my site through Google, the bounce rate is 100% and the average time on site is 0 second. My confidence of English is almost exhausted.Has anyone ever shared the same or revelant situation with me?
Any advice will be appreciated.Thank you.

Maybe you selected the wrong target. Try to do a website for people. ;-)

Now seriously, 0 seconds visits means robots, legitimate or scrapers (any difference?). You must search for real traffic.

Learning a new language is pretty difficult, and people likely won't waste their time with a blog to do it. They'll either go all the way and get professional software, or quickly look up the translation for a word or sentence.

I could be wrong though. But as said already, you might not be getting steady traffic yet.

Almost all online language teachers face this problem. People prefer to attend face-to-face coaching classes being conducted by a professional translator or a desktop application which helps in translation. Because, people what to learn faster when they hear the words rather than when they read, that's what you come across during schooling or college. Its a natural human tendency. Instead of teaching it online, showcase some coaching software's which you can sell through Affiliate Marketing.

yeah,I bet you are right ciol.I also tried to sell some language products online as an affiliate, but I'm not confident of my English writing. If someone tries to introduce some products to me in poor Chinese, I guess credibility is also poor to me.That's my concern.

I may be stating the obvious here but do you have sound files on your site.
The primary hurdle in learning a new language is to hear it and like a parrot repeat the words over and over to get the sound right (i.e. the correct pronunciation of each word).

In the case of Chinese, it's not only obvious but essential. The idea of learning a tonal language from written text alone makes my blood run cold.

For a living language, online courses require several things to start with:

#1 You need a pool of people who are under pressure to learn the language.
#2 It has to be a sufficiently rare language that people can't learn it by conventional means such as buying printed material or running down to their local adult school-- or even the nearest major university.
#3 Unless you (the site owner) are phenomenally dedicated, you need someone Up Top willing to pay for the whole thing.

I don't think the major forms of spoken Chinese fit the bill. Now, if you're bringing in foreign executives to staff your oil rig in an area where the local people-- including the lower-tier employees-- speak an obscure Berber dialect, then you've got something.

yeah,thanks.
My primary purpose with this blog is to provide some useful tips for those who want to study chinese. Also, people arriving at my blog could find things involved with chinese stuff interest them and make them get to know more about chinese people, chinese style,or sort of things.
Then I could sell some language products or relevant services as an affiliate.
Your advice are very helpful and I guess I could wide my blogging materials, not merely sticking in language wrinting part , considering that I don't possess the key resource of chinese language right now.
