Basic time-tracking software that is actually intuitive?

I've been using Grindstone to track hours for clients and it's as brutally anti-intuitive as possible; keeps doing things I don't want it to do, adds tasks I did not tell it, removes actual tasks at the top when removing them from the selection...it's really the worst software I've ever used. *edit* No - Vista and 7 are, but this comes in as an easy third place.

ALL I want to do is enter in starting date/time, ending date/time, and then add the selected date/time sets for the week to determine the total number of hours.

So in example here is what the time table may look like...

01-01-10: 11:00:00 - 19:00:00
--- START SELECTED TASKS ---
2010-01-04 11:00:00 - 19:01:01
2010-01-05 11:00:00 - 19:01:01
2010-01-06 11:00:00 - 19:01:01
2010-01-07 11:00:00 - 19:01:01
2010-01-08 11:00:00 - 19:01:01

--- END SELECTED TASKS ---
2010-01-11 11:00:00 - 19:00:00

Total hours: 40:05:05

I don't want software that automates anything else in any conceivable way unless I actually tell it to.

Suggestions please?

I've spent years trying to find something like that. Simple, basic, easy to use. Instead, I get software which developers assure me is 'packed with features' - none of which anyone in their right mind would want to use.

If you use a Mac, I found something called TaskTime. I've found it somewhat buggy at times, but it's simple enough to use.

Thanks though I use XP, any Window application suggestions?

Good software is hard to find, I always backup installers for software that actually does what I need it to do.

My old account at WW expired :(, anyway created a new one...

For Windows I'm using Complete Time Tracking (standard version). I find it easy to use and the reports are clear at least.

Any Q's msg back.

I am using WorkTime time tracking software [nestersoft.com]. It has this type of report. I am happy with this one for Windows. But now I am looking for same software for Mac. If anyone can recommend..

For Windows 7, Vista, XP, etc....

I've been using a program called TraxTime, completely manual. Works something like a punch clock, a bunch of in and out points for each day, with editable descriptive memos if you like for each interval. Outputs customizable reports to screen, printer, disk, or spreadsheet export. Very inexpensive.
