Hi all,
I have a pretty successful and settled content website. It's all static HTML at the moment. To take the website to the next level, I think I need to get my users more involved in the website. I need to get the users to create content.

If I don't do this, I probably will not be able to compete with the Web 2.0 websites in my niche. I ideally want a system where users decide to submit content... it goes through a round of editing on my side....and I then put it up, giving credit to the original author.

So my question to you is, how to I begin this process?

If I understand correctly, most of the people who create content for web 2.0 websites, only do it for acknowledgement and gratitude from other people in the community. So a system of "Comments" & "Rating" on each article is necessary.

However, I do not want to just set up all the systems and have no activity. So, anybody has any idea about how I should initiate the whole process of making the website Web2.0?

Thank you for reading..

If you don't have a content management system already, that might be a good starting point. There are plenty of good open source options out there, our you can have your own custom system built.

One bit of advice. Be prepared for the task of moderating a live community. It can be daunting a first if you have heavy traffic. Read up on community moderation as preparation.

I run a high traffic community site. I would guess that 50% of my time goes to managing and moderating the users and user generated content. And I have a team of volunteer mods helping me out. :-)
