its just pure nonsens to let the dollar fall to such a low, in 6 month I can buy microsoft for 5€ and a milk, how can they let the dollar fall to such a low, everything american is worth nothing.

Us european publisher which have business in USA, we get 37% less income then a few years ago, maybe its time to let the US be a part of the euro now.

In a affiliates view which has income from US advertisers are in real trouble now, also the advertisers from USA must also feel a cut down in european publishers and why issent there any european big player that offers CPM.... worldwide we are so mutch ahead in the internet biss then USA, so why.

Still european who has bussiness with USA, also will have some speculations now with such a low dollar, Im thinking of cutting some of my investors, if they dont add 20% to the payouts.

Find out who "they" are, and you've got it at least half solved. ;)

Because the European internet marketplace isn't as developed as in the USA?

Really? Unlike the generally profligate Americans, Europeans like to save their money and when they do get around to spending it, dislike spending it online. But then again, having tried to spend money on European websites, they make it so hard to transact business it's no wonder anyone bothers.

Germans have an average of around $3,000+ credit card debt. Americans average twice as much debt, at $6000-7000, and elsewhere [usatoday.com] it's been calculated at over $9,000 average debt per US household. Brits are catching up with reckless American spending habits, but they can't pull the entire load alone.

Sorry to hear the exchange rate is nipping your income, but Americans can't spend at a higher rate to help make up the difference for you. What's really at issue isn't the sissydollar but the girly-girl European spending habits. :)

What makes you say this?

A simple Google search indicates Internet penetration is actually much higher in the United States than both the European and the world average.

I don't want to get into an us versus you spat. I'm not being proud or nationalistic, only posting the basic facts. So nothing personal, okay? ;)

If they don't shop, then those numbers mean nothing.

I do think European spend more online then the US people.

2006 European Online Ad Spend [emarketer.com]: $10.08 billion

2006 U.S. Online Ad Spend [emarketer.com]: $16.4 Billion

The U.S. market is bigger than the European market, and one of the factors, as I experienced it, is because the European consumer lags in online spending. If the European market was strong instead of nascent, we wouldn't even be discussing the weak dollar. I would love to see the European market mature.

martin i dont take it personal, also this is no us against euro. ad spending, hmm that could be real, when I think internet in europa, I think scandinavia, germany, england, irland, holland, belgien, france, I bet the spending there is very large, means what cutomers soend on the net.

About spending money on internet advertising, I also think US is a little ahead.

still im pist about the dollar, not just be cause of the income, but they must also see everything american is less worth, also spending money on american stocks, also dont look that good as a european.

The Bush admin is keeping the dollar low because it is cheaper for the fed and businesses to pay down the debit at a lower evaluation of the dollar than a higher evaluation. Has nothing to do with how much we spend vs what the people in euroville are spending. The US has around 9 trillion debt. The major companies.. who knows. A lower interest rate costs less to pay than a higher interest rate. This will prob. go on until the fed raises rates in Sept.; when they will have too. Simple economics.

Right, agreed. My comments were in reference to the OPs question, "why issent there any european big player that offers CPM"

Most of the large US networks have European counterparts that pay in Euro or Pound Sterling. You just need to contact those offices directly.

Also to just add on the adsense pay out is rubbish because of the low doller. From XE - "1 USD = 0.492649 GBP" it was only last year it was around 0.7 sure?

Mind you, buying everything in dollers like links / articles etc costs less now...

The Bank of England raising interest rates doesn't help the pound against the dollar. Its great news for American exporters - surely no connection? Not after Thatcher and her dodgy deals with US companies?

Anyway, the blame lies not with the USA, but with our own governments.

Why not put your dollar income into a dollar account and pay your dollar expenses (advertising, ebooks etc) from that. This way you don't get hurt.

The US market has to aim at the European customers while catering to US ones? This could be a good kick start for the dollar recovery.

The dollar is punched, now that the Japanese are in the process of dumping the dollar watch it go even lower. Inflation will soon rear it ugly head in the USA when European and Canadian companies are forced to raise prices. I know I've been holding the line on prices for my US customers, even though the Canadian dollar has gone from 62 cents US to 95 cents US in the last three years. Something has to give soon, you can only "Eat it " for so long.

The best solution is to start outsourcing to the USA where you can get cheap staff due to their lower cost of living once you convert the currency. Most of them can speak reasonable English and you can fire them really easily.

California, the new Bangalore. Could that be Bush's secret plan?
