(or reporting to us-cert.gov from UK)

I want to complain about a domain which is continually hijacking my PC and / or ISP.

The domain is registered to a marketing company in the US. I read that with issues like this US citizens can file a report with us-cert.gov

1. What is the equivalent in the UK?
2. Will UK authorities deal with this US domain?
3. Can I as a UK resident complain directly to us-cert.gov

The whois details are slightly out of date in that the marketing company has changed it's name, and that the registered contact resigned from the company about two years ago.

I have contacted the UK offices of the marketing company asking about the rogue domain but the person I spoke to has not heard of it, and as yet has not had someone who may know about it return my call.

If the contact information is out of date, contact the registrar - maybe they'll pull the plug.

That doesn't say who the registrar is. Try another WhoIs service. Some of them will tell you: "Registered through:"

Trying another site shows that Melbourne IT is the registrar.

As for the registered contact who resigned I made a mistake there. He resigned as Director but stayed on as a VP.

For 1. above it is worrying to read the met chief recently saying that their cybercrime dept is overloaded.

I still need info on:

2. Will UK authorities deal with this US domain?
3. Can I as a UK resident complain directly to us-cert.gov

Any help appreciated.

BTW, it is in relation to a well known ISP and a marketing company allegedly redirecting browsing requests.

Can I as a UK resident complain directly to us-cert.gov

That's a tough question, HOWEVER, you can certainly bring wrongdoing to the attention of an agency in another country. A short polite email may elicit no response or it may elicit a "please tell us more response" or maybe a "yeh, we know about" response.

Generally speaking, US laws do not protect the rights of non-US citizens living outside the US (at least that's the impression I get in the UK watching the news) so a formal complaint may not be the way to go.
