Help! I need a CMS that works

I've tried a lot of free ones, but none can do the simple task I need.

I run a humor website, and It's been run as a blog up to now, but I want to expand it into more of a humor portal. One thing that I've taken for granted all along is that embedded videos -- like the ones from youtube -- can be posted anyhwere. Wrong! They don't work on any CMS I've tried. They've always worked on my blog, but I could give you a list of CMS programs that can't support simple embedded videos like those from youtube, google videos, dailymotion, etc.

Anybody know a CMS that can do this? It has to be affordable... not necessarily free.

Thanks.

In what way do they not "work"? Without knowing what kind of trouble you have had, it's hard to recommend a solution.

At worst, I think this probably requires nothing more than a plug-in for whatever CMS you choose - one that is almost certainly already written.

That's the beauty of CMSs - they are extensible. So, I wouldn't look for a different CMS - pick the one that works the best for you overall, then find a plug-in or module for what is lacking or write your own.

I agree, I don't see what the CMS has to do with being able to post videos. I use Joomla and you can pretty much do anything you want.

Agreed with the above.
I've put videos into all sorts of CMS systems and not had much of an issue beyond possibly finding a plug-in or module that would do the work for me more simply.

You guys are right. For some reason the videos don't play when joomla isn't in SEF mode. Once I had that in place, it worked fine. I don't inderstand it, but at least it's fixed.

Joomla, absolutely. A new version is coming out in a couple of weeks, so hold on installing it. I would recommend that you get a hosting service that features Joomla. I have one I use that I like, and if you PM or email me, I'll pass that along. They are very cheap and very good.

Joomla is not that hard to learn either. The only achille's heel is there documentation, which is oriented towards programmers; but it's not that bad.
