Does it matter what the bit rate of the video is? What about Video size, Audio or Video Codec? All the videos I have posted on the site are wmv.
I have some videos that were shot with an HD camera. The file properties of one is bit rate 5.58 mbps, video size 640 x 480, Audio Codec Windows Media Audio 9.2
VBR Quality 90, 48 kHz, stereo 1-pass VBR, and the length is 1:19.
Other videos that were shot with the movie feature of a digital camera . The file properties of one has a bit rate of 1.68 Mbps, video size 320 x 240, Windows Media Audio 9.2
VBR Quality 75, 44 kHz, stereo 1-pass VBR, and the length is 1:26.
The HD movies were worked on a different version of Movie Maker on a different computer.
Any ideas on why this guy is having problems viewing the movies? Should I be doing something different with my movies? I don't want them to look youtubish with compression issues where you can't make out a person's face.
5.58mbbps! Too much for most DSL connections, and pushing it for cable connections. I get 12 mbps with my premium-level Cox connection, but don't typically see anything close to that over the Internet.
OK for downloads (But wowie! 55MB for a 1:19 video!), if you don't mind paying for the bandwidth, but isn't going to work streaming for most of your users.
OK, step back, screw-in the reality filter...
What is a better bit rate? How do I adjust it? I have movie maker on both computers that I work on.
Right now, bandwidth is not an issue since I have so much, but I would like to manage it better so that it is easy for visitors to my website to view.
Please offer suggestions.
I do want to keep the video clear.
Thanks
WMV should play on any windows machine if your using series 9 codec.
