Twitter's new CEO,Linda Yaccarino, is aiming to make Twitter "...become the world's most accurate real-time information source".
In a series of tweets, which was also emailed to employees, Ms Yaccarino echoed Mr Musk's goal, that Twitter must transform the "global town square".

She said this would help "drive civilisation forward through the unfiltered exchange of information and open dialogue about the things that matter most to us."

One cannot be "accurate" and "unfiltered" at the same time.

One cannot have both because we all know how certain news organizations, leaders of countries like Russia and many politicians lie.

She is talking out of her rear end, imo.

If truly unfiltered, that might be a step in the right direction.

If ANY kind of filter is used is it "ours" or "theirs"?

One cannot be "accurate" and "unfiltered" at the same time.

It really depends to whom you're listening, and whether the recipient believes them or not. These are two sides to it, for example: the person communicating is explaining the facts, yet the recipient does not believe them. Equally, and here's the big problem with all social media, the person communicating is telling "their truth" yet it's not the actual facts, and their "followers" believe them.
Before social media was a thing, the village idiot was only known to a relatively small number of people in the village, however, today, with social media, the village idiot can spread their message far and wide. Add to that the fact that many believe everything that they last read, or heard about on social media and there's a cocktail for misinformation.

I admire the vision set out by the new CEO, however, I strongly suspect Twitter will find it very difficult to achieve, especially after Mr Musk has destroyed the half-way-house of verified users. Now, anyone can be verified: Does that make them credible? No, and in fact, less so than previously, imho.

My point is that a forum cannot be unfiltered and accurate at the same time.

It's just a fact that if you release all filters then the garbage is going to start pouring in.

In that respect, I agree: The village idiots will participate.
I'd like to think that people can make up their own minds, but, many cannot, and that's the downside of social media.

Has she talked to Elon about this? He's one of the biggest conmen of our time.
