Hi,

Getting back links from the same domain is worth or not?

For example:
I have commented on a blog post of a website and again commenting on different blog post of a same website is good or bad?

Will Google count as 2 back links from that website ?

Hi Srividya and welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

Yes they will both be counted however dropping links via comments has little link juice and some may argue these types of links may even count against you as spam & the type of backlinks that should be disavowed.

Thanks for your reply. So there's no harm commenting on 1 blog post/website ?While I was checking the back links of my competitors I find they have commented on many blog post (dropping their links below the comments) on same website. So I just want to know how these blog comments will treated by Google?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld

Because it's what your competitors do doesn't make it right. These are the techniques so old that it has lost it's value.

Doing that is spamming and it'll do nothing for the reputation and brand.

There are much better ways to do it properly, and you'll find many great ideas in these forums at WebmasterWorld. [webmasterworld.com]

Thanks again!

How important is Alt tag for images in the website in search engine optimisation? Should we give keywords to the Alt tag?

The Alt tag is there to describe the image so that visitors with a visual disability know what the image is about.
Stuffing it with keywords is really just spam and the search engines can easily spot this.

Search engines do not rank web pages according to which site has the most relevant keywords in alt tags, H1, title, etc. You are approaching the problem as if Google is a simple keyword matching engine.

Simple keyword matching is a way of ranking sites. It means someone searches with certain keywords and the search engine finds sites that have those same keywords (or synonyms) on the web page. That is not how modern search engines work.

Search engines do not even rank website by who has the most links.

Your approach is the way SEO used to be done seventeen or ten years ago. It has no relevance to how search engines rank web pages today.

Getting backlink from the same domain is not very much helpful. If you build backlink on the different domain then it will be more helpful. But quality is a big issue, you must build backlink on high authority sites.

Getting a backlinks from high domain authority site more than twice will always worth, but not on commenting activities.

Getting a backlinks from high domain authority site...

There is no such thing as "domain authority."

Playing SEO instead of thinking PEOPLE.

Post elsewhere all you like, but don't do it to get a link. Do it because it makes sense FOR THE SITE YOU POSTED TO. Sign it, of course, but don't think it will provide instant boost to your site. Won't happen. Guest Posting is so deprecated these days. UGC has been in the dumper for a while. (That is what a guest post is.)

Okey, let's have a look at everything said.

First, let's talk about getting two links from the same website. The thing that you should understand is this: link juice (authority) doesn't only come from a domain. But from each page on the web. It moves from a page to another. If I get two backlinks to the same page from the same page, the second backlink won't count at all. But if I have two backlinks from two different pages on a website, each of them is moving some juice to my website. But... each backlink moves less juice than the last one. Why is that? Because google sees a link as a recommendation. And when you're recommended twice by the same person, obviously the second time it's not as notable as the first time.

The other thing I must talk about, is commenting as a technique. From my experience, the best approach is to be who you are. Start reading different blogs and when you feel like it, comment on them with your own name (not any keyword, please not keywords). If we look at it with this perspective, we come to the understanding that it's even more natural to have two comments or more on a blog. But... don't spam... don't add to the #*$! on the internet... try to be constructive and get the link... and don't forget that over using of commenting as a method, can result in google spam. (They know that these links come from comments)

There's also another debate that we should talk about here. All comments on every blog I've seen so far has a nofollow link. So it's not supposed to move any juice. Personally, I believe it's not the complete truth. Nofollow links don't move juice but they add a little juice to the linked website.

Now, in response to what martinibuster said, I think the speculation that domain authority doesn't exists is far from the truth. Why shouldn't google use something so informative and to the point as a ranking factor? Google has a trust metric for every domain on the web, based on their past. Think about it... it totally makes sense.

Sorry for delay response and thanks for your Information. But can you explain me why google will quickly index Delicious, Flickr, Tumblr, Wordpress, Digo, Dekut and many more sites when compare to other sites. If you get backlink from this sites your link quality score will be high compare to some other sites what may be the reason for it.

It's not speculation. It's fact.

Gary Illyes confirmed there is no such thing as domain authority, [seroundtable.com]. I posted an article on my site with the results of my research and study on whether a thing like domain authority might exist in a Google algo. My research concluded that no such thing as domain authority is in use at Google.

You'll find the article if you search on Google: martinibuster domain authority

The concept of Domain Authority started in the early days of SEO. In the beginning, domains did have authority and would be able to rank for a large number of phrases because of their PageRank. Google noticed that and changed their algorithm to rely less on PageRank. That was a long time ago. Yet, the concept remained, even though Google's algorithm had changed.

This is a good example of a Rote SEO belief. SEOs believe something because it's attained a canonical level of belief, like a holy book, and everyone's afraid to question it. (Canonical means a list of holy books that are accepted to be beyond doubt as the real writings.) So everyone keeps believing in domain authority even though Google changed the algo around 2003 and the change was plain to see.

I did the research and shared it. We even have a statement from a Googler who has said it's not true. We have the history of the SERPs to show where the belief came from and how the circumstances changed.

Continued belief in Domain Authority is... strange and not logical, imo.

Well if you're talking about it in the layman's term then, yeah those two links are better than one. But if you think about it technically then it'd be clear that dropping in multiple links via comments or messages on the same site isn't the best way to bring in traffic and in the worst case the site administrator might flag you as a spammer and then you're almost done for that site with your IP getting banned.
So, I wouldn't recommend dropping in too many links on the same domain again and again. Instead you should focus on other fields, like guest posting, article posting where you can actually keep your content unique and precise.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

In my opinion blog commenting is useful only when you are commenting on post related to your business niche.

Blog commenting is one of the best ways to get quality backlinks. But commenting on different blogs on the same website/day is not good at all. You can comment on 1 or 2 blogs on the same website/day.

Take backlinks from other high DA site is better than take backlinks from same site. May be by this way amount of backlink can be increase but it is worthless. And right now nofollow links priority is so low, so better seed links with dofollow sites.

It will increase your number of backlinks but your count of root links will be the same. So try to do your submissions in the unique quality websites.
