Hi,
I have an SEO question that has been bothering me for some time and would greatly appreciate any advice that anyone may be able to provide.
I own a recruitment website, and was wondering whether it would be wise to apply the no-index tag to our jobs pages to prevent them from showing up in Google searches? These are a few reasons why I thought this may be a positive step to take:
• Although a primary source of traffic, we have an extremely high bounce rate on the vast majority of our jobs pages. Generally, people who find these pages are looking for a job description rather than a job, which is why they tend to jump off the page pretty soon after visiting them.
• As a recruitment agency, we submit almost identical job descriptions across a number of different job boards to increase our reach to potential candidates. Although there may be some provision made for recruitment agencies because of the nature of the business, I wondered if this may present duplicate content issues.
• We are eventually looking to launch a range of helpful news articles, guides, and a blog on our website, and would prefer that these pages perform well in the SERPs. I can’t help but think that the high overall bounce rate for our website, resulting from our low-ish quality, high quantity jobs pages, may in some way hinder the performance of these higher quality pages.
If anyone has any thoughts on the above, your feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
