I have a conundrum for you all.

I operate a video site with a few thousand pages indexed in the search engines. All of the pages are written in English.

I will be rolling out French and Spanish versions of the pages in the coming weeks. I have already decided on my URL structure for serving these pages but my big question is with duplicating the comments.

Each video has approximately 5 comments. 99% of which are written in English. The comments probably make up for approximately 40% of each pages content.

Will presenting these comments on each of the pages cause duplicate content filtering issues?

I have a few options to counteract any possible duplicated content issues.

1 - I can store all the comments in an iFrame and block all comments from appearing in search engines

2 - I can display all comments by default but then use JS to load up the comments on the French and Spanish language pages therefore blocking the duplicated content on French and Spanish pages.

3 - I can do nothing. I can leave things as they are.

What would you do and recommend?

And do you think that the reverse content cloaking approach in 2 could be seen as a grey area for search engines?
