One of my information sites has a number of sections that all do very well in the SERPs. However, I have noticed that pages that make use of lists/bullet points, tend to consistently not do very well in the SERPs.

Of course, I appreciate that there may be numerous other explanations for this. But it is the only uniting factor for these pages (several dozen), that I can find. Other pages in the same sections perform very well.

I was wondering whether it would be logical to assume that an indented bullet point would be considered less important than the 'main' text above it. Just as that 'main' text would be considered less important than the bold or <H> tag heading about it?

Anyone have any experience or thoughts on this?

I haven't tested recently, but it used to be the exact opposite - words in lists got a little bit of a boost.

Thanks Tedster

Well that blows my theory out of the water.

Would you mind revealing how long ago you tested this?
