Basically, I would like a copy of the feed to download or keep on my own website. I really like the visual embedding that FriendFeed shows (youtube screenshots, yelp maps, flickr thumbnails), but I can't find a way to duplicate their interface. Alternatively to backing up directly to my Wordpress site, the RSSOwl desktop app can make a good HTML backup, but it only links to the image embedding (it doesn't actually download the content). I do like the easy-searchability of the RSSOwl HTML, too, particularly since FriendFeed's search functionality is pretty lousy.
So can anyone think of a tool with these two features? (1) Archive of feed visuals and (2) easy searchability of complete feed history.

I haven't used it much, but Backupify is supposed to help with backing up various feeds and services.
I had received a couple of backupify recommendations already. Gave that a try, but it wasn't at all what I was looking for - text only backups. Backupmy.net seems to be similarly useless in this situation, to put it bluntly.
There was a mention of using Yahoo Pipes, but I wasn't familiar with what he was trying to do. That Pipe seems to be doing the same thing as importing a regular feed. Still back to where I started!
