Apple has unveiled a new iPad with a high-resolution screen which it terms a "retina display".
The firm said the resolution of its screen was 2048 by 1536 pixels. Chief executive Tim Cook claimed that "we are redefining the category that Apple created".
The tablet computer is also powered by a new A5X chip with improved graphics performance.
The firm also announced an upgraded TV box which can now handle 1080p video.

If we want our websites to look crisp & sharp on the iPad 3, we'll need to provide *all* images double sized. Which of course slows down loading times.

I just pre-ordered one of the Apple TV boxes. I considered them before but was thinking the "real" Apple TV would be out this year. I can't wait for it, because I want airplay now.
I have an iPad 2, I'll stick with it for now. Maybe once I see the new iPad hands-on I might change my mind. This wasn't earth shattering news today :)
