Sometimes the laptop doesn't detect any connections at all, saying my wireless capability is turned off when it clearly isn't (the switch is turned on, the keyboard switch is also turned on, and the wireless icon is lit) and also says a network cable is unplugged. I've checked and rechecked a thousand times, nothing is unplugged, I've restarted everything, reset everything, and I still can't find my network on my laptop! The desktop works fine on my network, I just can't seem to figure out why the laptop suddenly stopped detecting and connecting to it. Randomly it will detect other connections in the area but I get limited connectivity with them.
Someone help please!

Not so fast. Can you connect other wireless devices? Does your notebook connect at *bucks, etc.?

A different issue unrelated to wireless, but have you successfully connected the notebook to the LAN via cable?
And can you explain the second part to me? I'm not too great with computer speak haha
There might be a setting that needs changing on the router (have you been through the loops w/ Linksys tech support?), or the router might be toast on the wireless, etc. This kept happening to a distant family member and I thought they had screwed up some settings or were just out of range. On my next visit when I had a few days to test, it turns out the wireless was indeed wonky (sporadic in-&-outs, complete drops w/o moving the laptop that took 30-minute backflips to reconnect): replaced the aging Linksys router with a new D-Link and haven't had a problem since. Not saying Linksys are bad; a new Linksys router would have accomplished the same, I just prefer D-Link these days.
