I use Opera more than any other browser. My gut was that it was the fastest too.

It's nice to see the processing speed verified - but for me the biggest gains come from the intelligent usability and the ways I can customize the interface to suit my work flow. I've often said that using Opera as my default browser frees up an extra hour a day for me.

Yeah, it's that much better.

yeah ..but wouldn' t it be so much better again if they could just make it save pages in the same way as firefox and even IE ..

that is to say save the html element of the page and the accompanying stuff in one separate but linked folder ..that way one could save pages and later read and discard what turned out to be "not so interesting" ..without having to pick through the chaotic way that opera actually saves the pages into which ever folder one has designated as the "save to folder"..

I use opera to browse ..firefox to dev and save ..and IE to make sure it works for those who like spyware ..

if Opera could save in the same way as the other two ..if they made it payable again I'd pay upfront for whatver they asked ..til then it browses like it's on speed ..and saves like it it's been smoking badass weed ..

I found the article, but it basically mentions this person and links to their site for the information [howtocreate.co.uk...] You can leave the link or edit it.

It's a pretty good reference and it allows you to sort by clicking the column headings in the tables.

Opera is talso the fastest in my opinion and offers the mostcustomization on layout etc. Now if they could just come up with plugins like FF.

well its nice to see a mention, but hardly a suprise to anyone who actually has tried it ... although i'm with tedster, i don't think the speed is of such importance, for me the sheer useability of it is what saves me so much time.

i've been a fan (and a paying customer) for many years now ... i think around 1999 and i have certainly evangelised it! however it is a really good example of how people will not change and stick with what they know.

side note; the one thing that irks me is glossy computer mags who write articles about browsers, and they all seem to recommend firefox these days over ie, however they rarely if ever mention opera.

the only person i know (outside of WebmasterWorld) who has ever used opera except on my recommendation was a girl at the royal school of music who used it purely because she thought the name appropriate for a music student!

One of my clients has a global staff of 1500, and their Intranet shows 45% Opera users. That's because they recommend it, regularly, to everyone involved. No, I didn't start the ball rolling; their own IT Dept did.
