I need to delete my underperforming keywords and some other keywords that basically have "expired." The only way to do this is manually. I can handle the expired words because they're pretty obvious when I look down the list.
I'm really having trouble with the underperforming words because the metrics don't display on the "Manage Keywords" screen where you delete the words. So, I could make a list of the words and then delete them. But here's the kicker--you can't sort the keywords alphabetically on the "Manage Keywords" screen. They are sorted in the order in which they were added. So I'd have to look on every single page and search for each of the words I'm trying to delete.
Does this sound absolutely insane to anyone but me?
What you describe has been a VERY sore spot with me and I can't make MSN even understand why.
I believe that much of the frustration is because very, very, very, very few MSNers have even a basic understand of what it takes to manage a PPC campaign.
I'm sure AdCenter411 will bite my head off here and apologize out the kazoo telling us about all the plans they have for making changes, but that story is getting old.
Through smaller Campaigns and reporting you have much more granular control of not only your data set (keywords) but also the results of your campaigns.
My conversion on MSN doing it this way is around 19%. My ads display far less than on google and overture (not as many searches) but i have more data easily available in Adcenter then i can garnish out of the others "out of the box".
perhaps i've just used adcenter more now and i'm just used to the differences.
I love the fact i have multiple ads per campaign, multiple orders per campaign, tracking and costing for all of the above in an easy to view representation.
No problems finding keywords this way, smaller orders are easier to manage on a whole and i can track which ads do better
