Any Simple Responsive Templates Out There?

Looking for an easy to understand and customise template.

I am now 69 years of age and I retired from web design just as responsive design was taking off. I decided not to educate myself on this as I did not think I would need it and I found some of it a wee bit over the top of my head.

Over the years I had created three not for profit websites for clubs and organisation that I belonged to. These now need updating so I would like to make them responsive but I have no need or inclination to go back to the classroom.

Does anyone know of any simple responsive templates that are out there? I know that there are thousands of templates available but each one seem to be trying to be more clever than the last. Most of them come with 50 layouts, 40 different page styles,100 headers, 10 menus, etc. and I find trying to understand and to separate my requirements from this to be a nightmare.

What I am looking for is a very basic layout that can be easily customised to suit my requirements and I am happy to pay for this. Any ideas?

You may wish to look into page builders. The learning curve is very soft.

Thanks but I never used Wordpress when I was building sites and I don't really want to have to learn this too.

Try Creative Market or ThemeForest for HTML templates. Both are leaders in the field. I've used templates from both for various kinds of projects. One is pretty much as good as another.

The products are submitted by individual crafters, like the images on Shutterstock.

I know what responsive web design is. I fully understand the concept and the requirements and I created a couple of responsive sites using a template about three years ago. This was a good template but I struggled with the customisation. I was just looking for something simpler.

Thanks Swanny, I will take a look at that one.

There are ready to use free templates at w3schools [w3schools.com]

Like any of this type of offering, they are good or free. They offer a decent selection and while you don't pay, you either learn to edit css or depend on theirs. The w3.org [w3.org] site offers free learning tools.
