I've liked it since I accepted the free install from M$ 3 years ago. I have 10 Pro on 3 devices. Never a problem.

The only problems I've seen are from users hanging onto old software.

What I have come to appreciate is multi-device access to my files via M$ Cloud. I didn't think I would have a use for it and even questioned the security, but after doing the research I'm comfortable with its safety and really find it useful.

I still install Start10 to get the classic Start menu back, but overall it's a pretty good experience, and not all that different from Windows 7, which I was fond of. Would have to agree that the Microsoft Store is a joke.

I have a number of gripes over Win10, and the biggest of which is the relatively slow process of updating. Some machines are faster than others, and some can take an hour or two. that's low productivity! Updates should be much better and faster, imho.

i absolutely hate to see Microsoft has installed things for me that seem to appear, such as games. Why? Well, I know why, because they are paid to do so. I spend time removing them, then, another reappears. Perhaps because I hadn't uninstalled it properly. Easier control over apps.

Yes, the Microsoft Store is sadly lacking, and finding programs in the wild is the way i've continued.

I hear this a lot. If you have your device set to notify you when there's an update available, then you must wait a combined time for the update to download and then install.

I changed that setting on my devices. I let them download automatically in the background, then I'm alerted when the update is ready to install.

All my devices are fairly new with good specs, so the installs, while sometimes lengthy I admit, are not too bad.

I, too have them set to notify when ready to install, however, it more often than not requires the machine to be left switched on over night. Not everyone wants to do that.
It's not the downloading that is the problem, in most instances, it's the installation time. One and a half hours on one machine!
In addition, the download when not on a metered connection does not give all the flexibility it should because I can be on a metered WiFi connection, and the download eats into the allowance, so i've set all laptops to manual.

Oh, on the positive side, i've had far fewer BSOD.

Win 10 is a mixed bag of improvement and invasion of privacy (by MS) with (see their TOS) the potential of sharing same with third parties. Kudos for being up front about that, thumbs down for putting it in there in the first place.

The continual (and all y'all who say it don't happen or you have killed it need to run wireshark a little more often) call home with specs, activity, apps, programs run, time, etc is troubling.

Is it more secure? Probably in general, yet it's not secure enough to PREVENT A USER from doing something stupid. Once infected getting rid of that is MORE DIFFICULT than it ever has been in the past OS versions.

Overall, Win10 is here, it is the next step, it works--unless you are chained to legacy applications for which immense funds and training have been invested--and the average SMART PHONE user won't know the difference.

Win10 has the inherent value of being a "great OS" for those who know how to use same, but is also the most dumbed down version and credit that to the fact that most "computer users" these days are found on cell phones, not desktops, laptops, or tablets.

Well, your sharing your own experience and if that was happening to me, I wouldn't like it either. Just know that not everyone has to do this. I've never had an update install last any longer than 20 minutes, that I'm aware of. I'm always connected, so guess a couple could have happened over night while I was sleeping.

Haven't seen one of those since Windows 97.

I like windows 10 because of here no need to use extra anti virus tool which is actually slow the PC down. For security and for gaming i think windows 10 works nice.
