Windows 10 Creators update will test the preventing installation of apps that are not from the Windows Store.
There will be an option to "Prefer apps for the Store, but allow from anywhere.

It's the wild west out there for bloatware and apps, and it firmly shifts the responsibility back on the user should a problem app be installed.

The latest preview of Windows 10 gives users the option to prevent classic Win32 apps, which aren't available in the Windows 10 Store, from installing on a device. This measure could provide a significant defense against bloatware and malware both for consumers and the enterprise. Windows 10 Creators Update Tests Windows Store Only App Installation [zdnet.com]

On one hand we have the rights of the user to do what they choose with their device.

On the other hand, installing malware makes for a bad user experience and may contribute to an insafe internet.

Personally, I feel it's safer to only allow software vetted from the manufacturer. It's kept all my devices free from harm for years.
