Microsoft's Windows 10 is still causing concern with the E.U.'s privacy and data protection regulators.

As a user of Windows 10, it seems as if there's a level of privacy a user can reach, and then it's not possible to protect beyond that. It does require a number of check boxes deselected. It's frustrating to have to track these down and to uncheck them, imho.

The group - referred to as the Article 29 Working Party -asked for more explanation of Microsoft's processing of personal data for various purposes, including advertising.

"In light of the above, which are separate to the results of ongoing inquiries at a national level, even considering the proposed changes to Windows 10, the Working Party remains concerned about the level of protection of users’ personal data," the group said in a statement which also acknowledged Microsoft's willingness to cooperate. Quit onerous in fact Engine. Even after updates I always go back and check my settings. Ditto for updates on other programs - it wouldn't be a first for me to find certain settings now reset back to the default by an update.

It is t he sneaky reset of settings that made me opt out of Win10 back to WinWorkgroup 3.1 (I;m kidding!) Win 7 at the moment. Win 8x had many of these features active, Win10 went a bit further (re: privacy considerations). What is needed, and someone who cares can write it, is a powershell app that remembers your settings and routinely checks and resets to preference.... I'm just not the guy t o do that.
