Many of you may already know this. I didn't.
For those of you using Windows 10, there's a handy way to skip past settings or control panel to the Windows Master Control Panel, and it's been dubbed GodMode.

It comes with a warning for those that don't know what they are doing, simply because all Windows customization is now in one place, rather than being buried deep within the settings, or control panel. More that 240 settings are at your disposal, in one place.

To set it up, create a new folder and paste in the following code

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

and press enter.

You don't have to call it GodMode, of course, so you can rename GodMode in the prefix, and call it what you like, but do ensure you include the dot before the curly brackets.

For example, to call it AllControls, paste the code in below.

AllControls.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Have fun!

Might prove useful, then perhaps not.

At least it is now sitting there to use if something arises.

BTW - despite there being a lot of good info at pcworld, this one page (linked above) has 58 remote HTTP connections that hold my browser captive, waiting for them all to load before I can execute any functions:
several ad networks
GA
APIs
analytics.twitter
several remote scripts
remote image libraries
remote font libraries
ad infinitum...

Even with a very fast connection, I wait for 2+ minutes. The next time we discuss horrid web practices, I hope I remember to exemplify pcworld.

And I got in instantly with FF, NoScript and Ad Block+

Go figure. :)

(I did, of course, allow the site domain, just not anything else)

I think we've had that censorship discussion before. No need to have it again :)

True. This comment was about site usability, nothing else.

Yeah well, I'm with Tangor on this. Anyway...

One thing I would like to be able to remove as pure "clutter" in explorer [classic shell] main page are folders I have never used going back to when PC's were first invented.

Documents
Pictures
Music
Videos
and more...

I was able to remove some with the tool yesterday, but not all

I was that way back with Win95/98, but rethought the approach and now welcome these "default" folders and the "library" links they support. Too many new apps use these default folders for saving content to change that now (at least you know where to look!).

Set up godmode on the one win10 I have running at present. Nice collection of tools and tweaks, but also very dangerous for those who know just enough to get themselves into real trouble!

"Too many new apps use these default folders for saving content to change that now"

Agreed, especially if you sync to your mobile device.
