Can you view other files burned to DVD on your PC? It's just media files that are invisible? What sort of files are these?

I can sell files I burn on my desktop PC, but if I move the DVD to the laptop, nothig comes up.

Lately I have been burning WMV file i download from the web. I can see on my desktop PC fine but nothing on the laptop

I'm not clear here.

Could you take the burned DVD to another PC (net cafe, freind, other PC) and try it out? Is this a local network issue or general Windows problem?

It may be your DVD burning software. What do you use?

I have a desktop and a laptop.

The DVD burner is on the desktop, I download windows media files onto my desktop and I burn these files onto DVD.

Then I hake DVD to laptop to watch the media file but windows explorer cannot find anything on the DVD.

Haven't tried any other PC.

Have you established that the DVD player on the laptop is working correctly - sounds like it may be dead.

I've just tested the DVD drive, it's working OK, it can play a DVD I burnt in the office.

I've seen CD drives (not DVDs) struggle to read rewritable media whilst reading recordable (write-once) media fine. Is it possible that a similar problem is occurring.
