Two lessons, I think:

1. FB and Google are sleazy about collecting personal data - and that is Apple's job!
2. Do not depend on someone else to run your internal apps.

Apple has enabled Google's internal apps as of today according to TechCrunch: [techcrunch.com...]

Both Google and Facebook were by-passing the App Store's process of app approvals by using their Enterprise Certificate to ask users to install unapproved apps that had only been approved for Google's internal (employees) use. Those apps allowed much broader data sharing than approved at the App Store. The Apple people are still talking with FaceBook.

These two companies have been contentious with every attempt to collaborate in the tech world. Each wants to be number one ... and each will screw whoever it takes to get there. Sometimes the players get a bit fractious. :)

Tangor, I don't think being #1 is what they want, access to personal data in copious amounts is what they ultimately fight for and push the limits to get. Maybe that should be regulated to stop people getting caught in the middle like this.

Number one is who can Slurp-A-Lot. Even better if they can do it on someone else's dime.

The abuse to the user is becoming so egregious that even those sleepnits are beginning to wake up.

SADLY, when they do, they will have government fix it and ... well we all know what that generally turns out.
