Apple is once again slashing the minimum amount it charges advertisers to run a campaign on its iAd mobile ad system and boosting the amount it pays mobile app developers, Ad Age has learned.
Advertisers will now have to spend just $100,000 for Apple mobile campaigns running in iPhone and iPad apps, down from a previous $500,000 threshold and a significant reduction from the initial starting price of $1 million in 2010, when Steve Jobs unveiled Apple's first ad product.
In addition, app developers will receive 70% of ad revenues from iAds running on their apps, vs. their previous 60% cut.

$1000,000.00 is still unrealistic for most companies.

I imagine this will decrease even further in the near future. Only large brands can afford $100K and I'm not sure what kind of ROI they could expect in this relatively new marketplace.

The price still encourages only big brand and political types to advertise, they should have reduced the minimum to zero.

In all seriousness, let's say you are a car manufacturer, how many people are really going to click on that ad? That being said, I doubt the ROI is that good. And if you are a popular restaurant, do you really need that type of ad? I think their pricing is based on their ego and not reality.

Give it time... iAd will vanish.

Can someone tell me if Apple allows AdMob ads in it's apps?
