With the availablity of the Apple bootcamp, I really do not see the point in buying a PC again. I just picked up an Apple Macbook Pro, and if everything goes well, I plan to change my desktops to Apple's as well. One question though. In terms of hardware for the desktop, would the PC hardware like a Rev or DVD-RW drive also work in an Apple environment in terms of installing it into the Apple?

This question may have more/better responses if moved to the Mac Webmasters forum...but I will answer it here for now.

Most external hardware will work on the Mac if it is FireWire or USB. As for internal, it depends...most SATA hard drives will work fine. Macs already have a DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW optical drive in by default.

You can find specs here for Apple products that may answer specific questions:

A bit off topic, but I'd recommend using Parallels over Bootcamp. I replaced a small network of a Mac and two PCs with a new Macbook Pro and Parallels last week, and I'll never look back.

So is this hardware internal or external peripherals? For external firewire and USB stuff, mostly you just plug it in and it goes. Internals are a bit more complicated.

Most distributors of hardware will tell you if the hardware you've got is Mac compatible. But if they say "No, it's not," sometimes they mean they just don't support Mac, so it's Plug and Play at your own risk.
