New DEB install 7.6

I have just moved back to stable from testing
with the 7.6 version

On boot I get multiple lines like this

amixer:Mixer hw:0 load error: Invalid argument
[ 7.687072] hda_codec: num_steps = 0 for NID-OXC (cti = Front Playback Volume)

then my PC boots normaly (its a server)

but then I get issues like when I type its very slow for the letters to appear which makes it hard to do any thing..

Funny thing is that other fonctions such as opening and closing programs work normaly.
But if I type in a terminal the letters take ages to appear..
weird..

Its look like I am missing a sound module..

I have disables all the sound services at boot but it does not change..

does any body have an idea for a fix on this

You do not say how you are accessing the server. In my experience, certain types of remote access (eg VNC) can sometimes delay local view updates. If you're using a dedicated monitor, ignore that. :)

I do not think that the server is at issue here
Its a home / local server samba/apache/mysql
and its also my daily work machine

this could be a module issue with wrong/missing dependencies

Could be a sound card issue..?

But I do not use sound on it

Sorry, that was my only real shot. :(

I assume you've run apt-get update to see if there is anything "missing"? What does hardinfo (system information) tell you?

I still have the error message on boot but the computer is behaving perfectly well now..?

I had a look at
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
and the line :

options snd-hda-intel model=auto

is not in there ?

I think the "slowing down " problem is elsewhere
Every time I plug in an ext HD I get this problem in fact
I just noticed it as I usually have it pluged in all the time for backups
Note that it only does it with usb 3
my usb 2 HD s do not do this..?
