Need some recommendations for a editor

Hi there.
I grew up using first Frontpage and after that Dreamweaver. I still use the old 8.0.2 version because I like it. I normally hand code my websites, but since the responsive web design I age I am looking for an editor to take the edge of all the coding. I bought and tried Artisteer, but I found it confusing since I did a lot of hand coding before.

Can anyone point me to an editor I can easy use to fast build a code base to edit more by hand afterward?
I like to learn it by doing it that way.

You can get Expression Web 4 for free. It is the replacement for FrontPage.

Expression Web will probably do what you desire and the learning curve is not that steep.

Yeah, I see I forgot to mentioned I need a good editor for responsive web design code. Normal HTML and CSS is not the problem. It the responsive part that I struggle with.

Responsive Web is a philosophy of coding, not something magical. Responsive can be hand coded from bottom to top, though a versatile editor is handy. Nothing special is needed, or required.

i'd spend time learning a responsive css framework such as bootstrap.
there are disadvantages to building from scratch, but then again why re-invent the wheel - there is also a large and active bootstrap community which is handy when you get stuck.

at first i struggled with bootstrap because it wasn't as lean, mean and tight as i was used to coding - so it went against the grain so to speak ... but the advantages are legion, so i overcame my objections and use it a lot now.

I'm playing around with Pinegrow, which is a desktop app that�s a Bootstrap, Foundation, AngularJS, and WordPress interface-builder. A lot of today's responsive WYSIWYG editors are browser based. Very few are stand-alone apps. This isn't free, but you can try it out online to see if it meets your needs.
