Putting a logo onto your website

I'm trying to insert a logo on a website but the logo is just too large. How do you adjust the logo (in .jpeg format) to the desired size?

FYI: I'm using Photoshop and Dreamweaver.

PS - Image Menu - Image size, check resample.
Or in PS - Edit/Free Transform - resize it.
This answer is real easy to find in the PS Help.

When resampling to resize you should also check and set the image to save at 72dpi.

A lot of people who don't work with graphics for the web often have their software set to use "inches" as unit of measure and 300dpi (or higher) for resolution.

For the web, it's better to think in "pixels" (and use them as the unit of measure on the image software).

I get people who send me a logo and say it is all set --- that they sized it [e.g. - 1.5" tall x 3" wide] and don't realize that it was saved (for print) at 300dpi. This results in the image being over 4 times as large "on screen".

A 1.5" x 3" logo resampled and saved at 72dpi should end up being 108h x 216w pixels.
