I haven’t downloaded it yet, but is anyone using it and what are your thoughts?

Don't think I will, now that Firefox has included it.

Meanwhile, not sure I'm going to use it even then. :)

I don't want this AI crap on my computer. I got Vivaldi a few weeks ago, and it's super flexible and really easy to work with. Comet is a no-go for me.

When I tried Comet yesterday I simply did not feel at all comfortable letting it have freedom of access to so much on my work system however I'll bet there are loads of "amateur" users who'll maybe find it acceptable. I have several browsers with the main three each being used for totally different purposes.

It's certainly not going anywhere near any of our mobile phones.

I installed it because I was curious about how it differed from other browsers. After exploring it for a while, I decided I wouldn't use it, so I removed it. I am about to start a crash course on AI tools, even though I have been using some tools for a while. However, I am not going to use AI browsers at this time. Still, change is inevitable, and no one in our field —or any field —should be resistant to it.

From my publisher's perspective, it makes more sense to use mainstream browsers, since those are what my audience uses. If and when Comet gets more than a tiny market share, I'll give it a try.

You mean as much as Opera at 1.74%?

What we really need is one more browser, AI or not...

Hmmm …… me thinks Google’s Chrome is here to stay.

Now what did Judge Mehta say in the anti trust case? Something like it would be messy. Seems like the market for incumbents could be messy to.

Firefox only included Perplexity as a search option, which can be easily deleted in the options for search.

Firefox is still running their own AI experiments of course, all of which I have turned off.

True... in a browser that has a mere 2%-ish market place. Still, remain on FF for personal (I like it), but all that other nonsense recently added has been turned off.

Just me.

Another browser I don't need. Conversely, I don't see anything on the horizon that will overtake Chrome in the near future.

Stats are based on aggregate data collected by Statcounter on a sample exceeding 5 billion pageviews per month collected from across the Statcounter network of more than 1.5 million websites

I never heard of them before. Do 1.5 million websites really use this?

Tried the Perplexity search in FF ... sorta okay, but contains a nag to their full product.

Did suggest a few things off the bat I might not have considered first searches, but would have eventually got there the old fashioned way (two more searches).

Not that impressed.

HOWEVER, their sourcing is visible on the result, so that's a step in the right direction!
