Hey all, I’ve verified my business on Google Maps and added all the details reviews, photos, services, etc. But it’s still not ranking well, even for local searches.
Anyone else dealt with this? Would love to hear what helped you improve visibility.

What do you mean by "ranking"?
Can you not be found by a search, or are you commenting on no obvious increase to site traffic?
If the latter it might be the product or the time span---not the search engine....
What kind of time frame? Quick as the web is, SOME things actually take TIME to happen! Think two different versions of SIX: Six weeks and Six months. THEN make decisions.

Hey, totally get where you’re coming from. I went through the same thing... i had everything set up and optimised, but still wasnt showing up well in local searches.
A few things that helped me:
Made sure my info (name, address, phone) was exactly the same across other sites like Yelp, Bing and a few local directories Started posting regularly on my Google profile, just quick updates or promos. Got a few friends to ask common questions in the Q&A section, then I answered them. Weirdly helped with visibility. Focused on getting steady reviews, not just a bunch all at once. Keywords people use in their reviews seem to matter too. Tried to get mentioned on some local blogs and community sites for backlinks.

Have you tried to collect reviews from customers?

You are not alone - seen this a lot. Getting verified on Google Maps is just the starting line, not the ranking factor many expect. Thats table-stakes.
Local vis depends on three things: proximity, relevance, and prominence. You can’t control proximity, but you can tweak relevance (right categories, solid service descriptions, matching site content) and build repetitive prominence (consistent citations, steady reviews, local links.
Proximity: G’s local results are heavily location based on proximity. double - triple check to make sure your category choices match your most important services exactly
Citations: Check that your NAP are identical across Yelp, Facebook, Bing, Linkedin, and major industry directories in your space.
Reviews: Keep reviews coming in. Velocity matters more than numbers. Ge seems to reward profiles that have a consistent stream of reviews with replies from the owner
On-Page Signals: Optimize your website to reinforce your location and services. Include your city and service keywords naturally in title tags, headers, and schema markup. Who knows how g's semantic analysis works here, but consistency is the key.
Engagement: Post updates, add Q&A answers, and upload pics. Profiles that show activity tend to get crawled and surfaced more often.
As we have said for 25 years - with Google - Linkbuilding cures all.

You need patience and consistency to rank on Google Business Profile.
Following these simple steps might help you as well.
Actively ask satisfied customers for reviews. Respond to all reviews.
Post regular updates (offers, news, events) and upload new, high-quality photos weekly. (Signals to Google that your business is current, engaged, and trustworthy)
Make sure your NAP details are identical on your GBP, your website, and other online directories.
lEnsure the website linked in your profile is mobile-friendly and also targets local keywords.
