Never mind the world; let's start with letting
me know. Can someone point me to an explanation?
Today's e-mail:
Let the world know who you are.
We've now enabled social features for your Google Places for Business account "Example" so you can connect with customers on Google+ and make a name for your business online.
Yes, example.org does have a Google Places account. But Google Plus? Nuh-uh. The e-mail includes a link,* which I am afraid even to click, for fear it will create a g+ profile where none existed before.
:: detour instead to personal g+ page, which includes a link to example.org ::
New signin dropdown: Me, then example.org, then "all your google+ pages" -- which, sure enough, lists a page that
I never created.
Color me disgruntled. Did these emails go out to everyone all at once, or are they working downward? (In which case everyone else already knows about this, because it is mathematically impossible for a site to be smaller than example.org.)
* http://www.google.com/appserve/mkt/p/ ... and then it spews out a whole lot of numbers. There must be some proxying involved, because the form of the 404 screen changes according to how much you truncate. It's never the ordinary google 404 that we all know and love.
