I've come across several sites--actually I'm pretty certain they're all owned by the same company--that use a bait-and-switch technique in their Google product listings.
If I search for "Acme Model 525," and set the price search for low to high, they're always amongst the least expensive. Let's say their price for the Model 525 is $399.
When I click on the link to their site, I find that the item that's offered for $399 isn't the model 525, it's a less expensive Model 510. If I want the Model 525, I have to click a radio button that says "Add $50." Lo and behold, the $399 Model 525 actually costs $449.
I'm not sure how they're doing this, but it would seem that they should be in violation of some sort of rule. And, since they rank extremely well, I'm not above reporting them for violations.
But what violations, if any, could they be reported for, and where would I report them?
Thanks for any replies.
How would I report this? Are there any checks done by Google? If not, will I have to sink to this level to compete?
