If you don't mind saying, what current method were you using to pay for your AdWords?

Here was the original announcement, [webmasterworld.com] for those that are interested.

We use our business credit card, so they wanted us to replace our business credit card with the Google credit card.

So I guess anyone using a cc will get a call as Google can make money if they convert the user over.

Are things really that bad at Google?

Every large company nowadays has their own cc card, it's free money. Google is always going to do whatever will make them more money.

question is: what other data they will get by offering one a credit card?

In this cash strapped economy for many small business owners this might offer a temporary relief, but the Devil is in Details as always.

I just find it annoying google are almost impossible to get hold of if something goes wrong yet they call me up to push credit cards.

The search company has become a credit card pusher, does anyone know how I opt out of these 'offers' I don't remember ticking any boxes :)

I applied for one however once it arrived I realized it was ONLY for AdWords which to me was redundant & just more paper work.

I would be willing to bet that this is being run by a 3rd party group & the people doing the calling are on commission (been there, done that). That would explain the pushiness.

Just say no & hang up! You won't hurt anyone's feelings. :-)
