Google AdSense console is reporting my ads.txt on different sites is not found for a few days or a week. I've done nothing differently and nothing has change on my site (yes, ads.txt exists). The message goes away after a few days and I do nothing. This hasn't happened before. anyone else noticing?

More importantly, those sites still collecting ad revenue from what I see when the message is on

The notice was added to Adsense more as an alert for people who might forget to upload it to the root of the website. It is a massive and automatic reminder for everyone. The notice disappears only in a few days.

Yes, the same for me. I suspect that the file was temporarily unavailable due to server problems. But the message keeps disappearing some time.

At present ads.txt is not mandatory, and a number of sites using adsense have not yet implemented it. Quite possible this is nothing more than a prompt to get all on board with the, so far, voluntary program.

Wouldn't give much thought to these "alerts" at this time. When it becomes mandatory is when you would worry about such notices.

This pops up for me too, I have a number of sites and the ads.txt is there so I think it's faulty because if I wait a few days the warning moves over to a different website of mine.

I have the same message for two sites and have had for about a month. Both sites have the ads.txt file.

Same here. I checked that everything was ok, and ignored it.

Same here. By any chance are you using cloudflare?

@yaashul, I use cloudflare on some sites. However, this is happening to my non-cloudflare sites too

I have the notification, I presume it's from one of my sites on some free web server space that my internet provider gives to its users.

But not only do I have no way to upload an ads.txt file to the root of that server if I wanted to (the URL is their domain name, then the user accounts are in a subfolder), within the past three years the stupid server won't even let me log in to make any kind of updates to the site at all. I complained to the provider and they said they're unable to access it themselves. Must be from some third party server they no longer have a contract with or something.

Luckily that's not my flagship site, just some space I have a couple of small sites on. I guess the moral is make sure you have direct control over any important sites you want to put up.
