Increase of manual AdSense units, progressive decrease in CTR and RPM

Sorry for this naive question.

Some months ago, I inserted more "manual" AdSense units on my webpages (from 4 to 6), without modifying the rate of 'Auto Ads'. The number of impressions did not increase significantly, but what has occurred is a progressive decrease in 'Page RPM' and 'CTR'.

I read in this conversation (https://www.webmasterworld.com/google_adsense/5086429-3-30.htm, 7:55 pm on May 19, 2023, by @ember) that "turning on more auto ads helps with ad targeting, which increases CTR".

I wondered if you could share some experiences. Should I maintain the number of "manual" AdSense units to 4, and increase the rate of 'Auto Ads' (currently around 70% over maximum)?

In case you're interested to know on one of our pages, we have auto ads at less than half load.
And 4 fixed ad units per post.

and it's going very well

@LucasPerez have you enabled or disabled 'Let Adsense Optimize Existing Ads'?

@guarriman3, I did this:
* 728 x 90 (320x100 for mobile) - Above the content (above the fault fold) and below the comment field area
* A responsive Native Ad before the 3rd paragraph
* 336 x 280 (desktop only) - Placing randomly every 5th paragraph, left or right inside the content. A 300 x 250 for mobile viewports centered after every 5th paragraph.
* 300 x 600 (desktop only) - Sticky ad on the sidebar
* Multiplex ads at the end of the article
* 728 x 90 (320x100 for mobile) - Sticky at the footer that appears after scroll the page x amount of %

@heathcliff. Yes, I have enabled: "Allow Adsense to optimize existing ads".

And fixed blocks ads responsive

I had a bad experience when I once disabled "Allow Adsense to optimize existing ads", some ads were mounted on post.

@LucasPerez I am curious, so I am going to a/b test it. I am gonna disable the fixed ads and run fully auto ads for a week and look at the data.

Ohw one question, do you have Auto optimize enabled or disabled. If enabled ... Which one did you picked (Auto optimize on or Suggestions only)? and how many percent of the traffic did you allow to be used for the experiments?
Thanks

@heathcliff

* I HAVE ALL ADS IN RESPONSIVE:
Auto optimize enabled Adsense.

Fixed HOME block ads:
-Headline (home only) a responsive ad
-Sidebar (starter post) a long responsive ad

POST fixed ad units:
-Below (post titles) responsive ad
-Sidebar (starter post) a long responsive ad
-Footer post (read below) responsive ad

Auto ads:
-Load (less than half load 40%), everything enabled, except Multiplex Ads, and Sidebar double Ads.

I'm pretty sure if you have 'Let Adsense Optimize Existing Ads' turned on they will alter. your manual ads to be whatever size they see fit. So you may not have "accurate" results on that particular ad unit because of that.

Yes, @Swanny007 it's true that having 'Allow Adsense to optimize existing ads' modifies them, but it's okay because that way Adsense can put all the existing sizes, and so you don't have to do it yourself block by block, it's comfortable and you don't have to work.

I'm just saying, in case it wasn't clear, if you are letting Google optimize all ad units, it is skewing the performance metrics of your manual ad placements (can't directly compare CTR / CPM / etc. anymore).
