Apparently it happened since they have updated the Auto ads interface or is it a pure coincidence

why would anyone want to use auto ads, just check the difference on webpagetest in speed auto/off, if you need interstitial - find partner to get admanager to setup better intersitials and other formats, adsense auto ads is really bad optimised for web speed

bad speed lowers your ad visibility and in effect revenue, and you can achieve better speed using admanager for interstitials and anchor ads and basically you have all that you have from auto adsense but faster (bigger revenue due to speed)

The last 10 days or so have deteriorated for us - a few of our ad partners have asked us too if we have noticed the deterioration across the board with all our ad partners so we know everyone seems to be feeling it. That matches the ad revenue index collapsing back to early Jan levels. We are generally a high volume pub.

Has anyone gotten the new AdSense sites panel yet? AdSense said it would be live March 20, yet I still have the old sites panel. Im guessing its a slow roll out or they delayed it altogether

For those using auto ads, are you using the in-page formats (banner ads, etc.)? I just use the vignettes, which work well, but I'm considering turning on anchor ads and/or banner ads to see if they help. I just don't like cluttering up the pages.

No, my rpm is steadily improving, now similar to december (EU)

I had pretty low RPMs this year since early/mid January until mit March. Since then, quite a recovery.

I always turn off "Optimize existing ads" for In-page formats. That always makes my revenue perform better.

@gatormark: that's interesting. can you quantify how big the difference (roughly) is? unfortunately that's something here you can't do a split test :)

I am seeing lower RPMs since the side rail anchor ads are added to auto ads. Anyone else seeing a similar drop? Today, I change the setting to opt out of side-rail anchor ads (keeping vignettes and bottom anchor ads) to see if it makes a difference.

side-rails do hurt income as well. I have that feature turned off too. Do not use EVERY ad feature available. That's a poor user experience and it dilutes your ad supply.

I didn’t turn the optimize existing ads on every website that I have. I turned the feature on three websites to test its impact. These were lower traffic websites. The difference was significant, probably about 35%.

Through my testing, I've found that vignette is the only beneficial "auto-ad" for me. I use vignette in combination with "in-article ads".

I turned on in-page auto ads yesterday. I know it's not been a long enough test, but so far, not impressed. Clutters up the pages and no earnings increase.

Tried to disable auto ads but RPM dropped by around 40%. Turned it back on and RPM recovered.

I will say that auto ads are starting to work. RPM is up by about 25% since I turned them on.

You should always have auto ads on.

This is very bad statement. Auto ads are diluting your ad inventory. It all depends.

I guess it depends, but you control the amount of ads displayed separately.

End of quarter has been a mixed bag for me. The Google Core Update mucked things up.

March started promising, but after the SVB collapse the payment went down the drain.
March 15 = Google core update, did not help me.

I'm getting too old for this.
