Which browsers are blocking Adsense (by default)

Without plugins, or add-ons, which browsers are blocking "by default", directly, or indirectly adsense?

It seems to me that Firefox, Opera, Brave and Safari do.

But may be I am wrong?

Safari does not block ads without using either a plugin or enhanced privacy settings. I use a vanilla Safari to check various things - no custom settings so it is all default and up to date. I might wish it would block them on some overkill sites, but it does not do it on default settings.

Judging by Google's last quarterly report the blocking isn't a big deal.

Suggestion - instead of kicking blockers to the curb show them an ad lite experience instead. You'll turn a net loss into a metrics gain.

That is exactly why I asked. I am not trying to show adsense ads to browsers, which I know block them by default, and as a result, I do not have to show a "cookie" banner to these visitors.

Since I am doing things right, I ask the consent before loading Adsense, so at this moment, I can't tell if adsense is blocked or not. So, for not bothering people with a banner, when adsense will finally not be used, I am looking at the browser first. So, Firefox, Opera and Brave users (since I learned Safari is not blocking) do not have cookie banners, and have other kind of ads.

Now, that I know Safari is not blocking, I'll be able to start trying to display ads to Apple's users,...

Might want to rethink that ... AFAIK no current browser blocks ADSENSE by default. The user can change their browser setting(s) to block third parties (cookies, primarily) and other things. Installing an ad blocker extension handles the rest.

Others may have different info, but as far as I know NO browser blocks adsense by default.

Occasionally I visit a site that falsely accuses me of using an ad blocker, although I don't and never have. This is using Firefox with no add-ons. In my Firefox settings "block popups" is unchecked but "Block dangerous and deceptive content" is checked, but I don't remember whether these are defaults or if I changed either or both of them.

I know that, out of the box, with a fresh install of Firefox , I see no adsense ads (and nearly no ads, anywhere). May be there are different default settings based on your country.

As I said, my goal is not to display a consent banner, to visitors who will not even load adsense ads because of their browser's default settings. I am testing ad blocker with different methods, but these methods are not detecting if a browser is blocking, itself, calls to the adsense 's js code, ... and from a legal point of view, if I call the adsense's js file to "test" , this is too late to display the consent banner.

I am considering using Adsense's build in consent banner, if adsense is blocked, the banner won't show, but I would prefer to continue to use my own banners, which I know exactly what they do, when and why.

In Firefox settings, go to "themes and extensions". Then search for "adblocker", and you will find several adblockers that can be added to your version of Firefox.

> no current browser blocks ADSENSE by default.

Opera, Vivaldi, and Brave all do.

seems Firefox does but i think this is if you use a strict security setting
